Queen Apex

Queen Apex is of the Apex caste, bred to command colossal living ships. The Throne Organism was seeded in a deep-space gas cloud forty years ago and has been feeding on the gas of that cloud since. It is already larger than most Combine cruisers, and it is still adding mass. She treats the growth as the measure of the captain and of the person, because in her caste the line between the two was never drawn.

She is rarely seen outside the command chamber. The last time she was made to leave the ship for a diplomatic meeting, she refused to speak for the whole of it. The meeting failed. She went back, and she has not disembarked since. Smaller courts have been eaten in her expansions. She does not file those meals as events.
