Senior Broodmother Ysta

Ysta is one of the oldest broodmothers still flying. She has hatched more Collective ships than most captains have seen, and she has a broodmother's patience. On the Spore Crown she sits at extreme range and launches volleys, then waits.

The spores are built to bore plate and take root inside, and to consume the ship from the interior. Most opponents do not know they were seeded until systems start failing hours after she has left. By then the spores are no longer her problem. She finds this satisfying. She says the Crown grows lonely without her. It is not clear that she is joking.
