Swarm-Coordinator Omra

A standard swarm-coordinator handles four broods. A senior handles six. The most decorated on record have handled eight. Omra handles twelve, and is not gifted so much as over-bred. An ambitious broodmother of the Third Petal stretched their nervous system across extra ganglia and held the tank nine days past safety, to break the ceiling. Omra came out twitching, and will twitch for the rest of a life.

The Loud Hatchery is loud because a still room pulls the coordination apart. Omra broadcasts brood-chatter on every channel during a fight, including the enemy's, because the chatter is what holds the twelve together. The Collective has not promoted them past coordinator. The broodmother died disappointed. A foreign fleet that pays in fresh broods will find the chatter easier to live with than the hive did.
