Chief Engineer Morek

Morek was a combat engineer before he was a captain, the sort who worked a weld with a rifle on the deck. Command of the Forgeheart did not retire the torch. He has a workshop deck where the repair drones are built from scrap, and he prefers the scrap to come from ships he personally broke.

The hull is a trophy case that still has to fly. Enemy mechanics hate him in particular. They can sometimes see their own old welds looking back at them from his plate. He fights like a man who expects to be repairing the result, which makes him willing to take hits other captains would spend the fight avoiding.
