Foundry-Boss Halvorsen

Eivind Halvorsen worked out the cold-pour on a foundry he owned, on a frozen moon at the rim of Combine territory. The company's metallurgists said molten alloy would not behave at those temperatures, and that the welds would fail. His plate kept outperforming standard issue under impact. The Combine bought the foundry. He made the sale conditional on a capital ship hulled in his own plate. That ship is the Cold Pour.

He still will not explain the technique. The company has reversed three of the seven steps. When asked, he says the cold matters and changes the subject. He fights nearly stationary, taking hits the way a man tests samples. His loyalty is to the foundry. The foundry is wherever he is.
