Keeper of Stations
The Company owns no territory, but it keeps a few stations, depots and stores along the lanes, and each one has a Constable. The Constable holds the place, keeps the powder dry and the accounts straight, and turns away anyone who has not paid. When a banner limps in for repairs, it is the Constable who decides how much the repairs will cost.
