Double-Pay
The Doppelsoldner is paid double, and earns it by going first. Into the breach, onto the boarding ramp, at the head of every charge. The rank is a reward for surviving the last one. Doppelsoldners are loud, rich and short-lived, and the Company treats them like heroes for exactly as long as they keep doing it. Most spend the second half of the pay on clothes, which is why they are the easiest Blades to spot.
