Commander of a Hundred
A Sotnik commands a hundred hands, which in practice means feeding a hundred hands, paying them, and stopping them from fighting each other between contracts. The fighting part is the easy part. The hard part is a hundred appetites and one cargo hold. A Sotnik who can keep a hundred Blades happy through a long quiet season is worth more to the Company than one who wins battles.
