Commander of the Hired
When an employer hires Blades by the dozen and folds them into its own fleet, a Xenagos goes with them. The Xenagos commands the hired ships, speaks for them to the employer's admirals, and makes sure they are spent where the contract says and nowhere else. It is half command and half diplomacy. The other half is reading the employer's orders for anything the contract does not cover.
