Soulbinder Vael

The Soulbind carries a rare Dominion phase drive, the kind that can make a short emergency warp as an attack. Vael's doctrine is to close to a middle distance, trigger the drive, and reappear with the ramming prow aimed at the other ship's core. The warp is short enough that a defense cannot rearrange itself. Most of his opponents never get a clean shot.

He does not speak during these engagements. Off the clock he is said to stare at the drive as if he were in conversation with it. The drive hums constantly. The hum gets louder when he is near it.
